Profile of Directors

The general policies of the Company are determined by a Board of eight Directors, two of whom are executives. The Board of Directors consist of the following:

Mr. Clement Adekunle Olowokande is the Chairman of the Company. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Olowokande is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Association of Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom. He joined Berger Paints Nigeria PLC in 1969 where he served in various accounting and finance capacities before his appointment to the Board as Finance Director in 1987 and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer in 1992. He was appointed Executive Chairman in 2001 and became non-executive Chairman in 2002. Currently, he is the Executive Chairman of CAFOA Nigeria Limited and has since 2001, served the Country as Chairman and member of a number of economic policy and advisory committees. He was appointed director of R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) PLC on September 5, 2002 and elected as Chairman of the Company on October 10, 2002.

Mr. Durojaiye Olatunji is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He is an economist and consummate management expert. Mr. Olatunji graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1972 with a B.Sc degree (Hons.) in Economics. He also holds a Post-graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Cookham, U.K. He is a member of a number of professional bodies some of which are the Chartered Institute of Marketing, U.K and the Nigerian Institute of Management. He started his working career at ICI Ltd., now Chemical and Allied Products PLC in 1972 and left in 1998 during which period he held management and board positions spanning sales, marketing, human resources and administration. He has also attended various senior management courses both locally and abroad. He was the Chief Executive Officer of DURT Limited, a chemical blending and marketing Company before he joined R.T. Briscoe in January 2003.

Mr. Bukola Oluseyi Onajide is the Executive Director in charge of the entire motor business of the group which comprises two world class brands, Toyota and Ford. Mr. Onajide, a tested and experienced Chartered Accountant started his accountancy training with the firm of Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Akintola Williams Deloitte) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989. He is a holder of Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos (1998). He has also attended various courses in Finance and Business Strategy at home and abroad including INSEAD in France.

Prior to his joining R.T. Briscoe on July 1, 1998, he had worked with SCOA Nigeria PLC (1990-1996) where he became the AGM, Finance and subsequently with Management Development Associates (1996-1998) as a Management and Financial Consultant. He was appointed a Director in December 2004.

Mr. Ayodeji Alli an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts, U.K. is the Managing Director of Asset and Resource Management Company Limited (ARM), the majority shareholders of the Company. Prior to his joining ARM, he had worked in notable international financial institutions such as Prudential Portfolio Managers Limited, UK and the African Development Bank, Ivory Coast.

Mr. Rowland Oladiran Esois a graduate of the City of Westminster College, University of West Minister, London where he studied Business Administration. He had his postgraduate studies at the North Weston Polytechnic, University of North London. Mr. Eso worked briefly for Bookers Export Services (1968–1969) in the United Kingdom as a Merchandiser before he was seconded to their Nigerian subsidiary, Bacita as Commercial Manager (1969-1973). He joined R.T. Briscoe in 1974 and held various Management positions within the organisation before his appointment as Executive Director in 1984 and Deputy Managing Director in 1997. He retired from executive service in April 2003 and is currently a non-executive Director.

Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayerois a Legal Practitioner and principal partner in the law firm of Lamido & Co. He is a graduate of the Institute of Administration, Kongo, Zaria and the Law faculty of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was called to the Bar in 1984, and is also the holder of a Diploma in French from the Ecole International De La Langue Francaise, Paris. He has served the Kano State Government and its parastatals in a number of capacities as Legal Adviser, Director-General and Permanent Secretary, and is the Chairman and Director of a number of Non-Government Organisations and private Companies. He was appointed a director in July 2003.

Mrs. Adeola Adenike Sagoeis a graduate of University of Miami where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree in 1987. She obtained a Masters of Science (MSC) degree in Finance from the University of Lagos in 1989. She is an internationally renowned fashion designer and was appointed a non-executive director in December, 2004.
